I’m excited to share with you two papers that I will be presenting next week. They are based on our HAVI Schmidt Sciences project, “Recovering Hidden Histories: Adapting Handwritten Text Recognition for Colonial Paraguayan Archives.” First, I will take part virtually in the “AI through History, History through AI” in Panel II: Decolonizing AI and Marginalized Archives next Monday, June 15, from 13:30 to 15:05 (Luxembourg time). I will present a a paper titled “Adapting AI for Marginalized Archives: Developing Handwritten Text Recognition Models for Colonial Paraguayan Manuscripts.” Second, I will personally present a paper titled “Sustaining Hidden Histories: Adapting AI Technologies for Colonial Paraguayan Archives” in Session 5A (Talks) – AI and Historical Archives at the UK-Ireland Digital Humanities Association’s Sustainability 2026 Annual Event at the University of Southampton on Tuesday, June 16th, between 9:30 and 11:00 AM (UK time).
